AUAR

Strategic Focus Areas

01

Sustainable development, the green economy, climate security, and climate justice

The Foundation gives particular attention to environmental and climate issues as an integral part of social justice. It undertakes projects that strengthen community adaptation to climate change, support affected groups, and encourage fair climate policies that distribute environmental burdens and opportunities equitably. It also promotes links between social justice, economic growth, and environmental protection through green projects and innovation in renewable energy and sustainable resource management, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

02

Youth, professional cadres, political leadership, and civic and democratic participation

The Foundation seeks to help develop political cadres, including young people and women, through training and empowerment programmes that raise young people’s awareness and strengthen their leadership capacities in civic and democratic participation. It may also support volunteer initiatives and community dialogue platforms that broaden participation in local decision-making and strengthen civil action. Partnerships with academic and human-rights institutions further develop professional skills and help create a lasting environment for young leaders.

03

Strengthening justice and protecting human rights

The Foundation supports the rule of law, human rights and freedoms, and judicial independence through initiatives that uphold justice, equality, and equal opportunity. It promotes a culture of social accountability and effective oversight so that public and community institutions act fairly and transparently. It also works to incorporate social justice and equal citizenship into public policy and local practice.

04

Good governance, decentralization, and stronger local communities

The Foundation advances governance based on transparency, participation, and effectiveness, and supports administrative and fiscal decentralization so that governorates and local councils can manage resources and pursue sustainable local development. It builds the capacities of local communities and grassroots institutions to manage their development priorities with greater independence through training, advice, and institutional support, while encouraging local-governance initiatives and small community projects with lasting impact.

05

Building national and international partnerships

The Foundation believes in the value of cooperation and complementarity. It seeks effective partnerships with government bodies and local, regional, and international organizations to share expertise and coordinate work on justice, governance, development, and climate issues, strengthening the positive and lasting impact of its activities.
