The Foundation’s delegation included Mr. Alaa Tawfiq, Foundation Consultant, and Ms. Farah Qaed, Relationships Officer. Discussions focused on a range of strategic priorities and initiatives aimed at strengthening the economic, social, and legal empowerment of women, with the objective of generating sustainable impact at both the community and institutional levels
The meeting also explored mechanisms to enhance women’s meaningful participation in peacebuilding processes, support their leadership in mediation efforts, strengthen social cohesion, and promote their representation in decision-making positions. representatives of the Auar Foundation for Justice and Development commended the National Women’s Committee for its continued efforts to promote women’s rights and strengthen their status. They underscored the importance of building effective partnerships between public institutions and civil society organizations to develop programmes and policies that foster women’s leadership and enable their meaningful participation in public policymaking and decision-making processes
The Foundation’s representatives also reaffirmed AFJD’s unequivocal rejection of smear campaigns and targeted attacks against women, particularly those that rely on defamation, stigmatization, and public vilification as tools for advancing political agendas or settling political disputes. They stressed that such practices constitute violations of human rights and undermine efforts to advance women’s empowerment and participation in public life and peacebuilding. The Foundation called for promoting public discourse that respects women’s dignity and rights and fosters a safe and enabling environment for their effective participation in public affairs, free from incitement, harassment, and defamation, in line with the principles of justice, the rule of law, and equal citizenship
The Auar Foundation for Justice and Development reaffirmed its commitment to expanding cooperation with the National Women’s Committee in support of justice and development priorities, while strengthening women’s role as key partners in advancing peace and sustainable development in Yemen
