Auar Foundation for Justice and Development Meets the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour

Representatives of the Auar Foundation for Justice and Development met today with H.E. Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafaei, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation and coordination, and enhancing humanitarian and development interventions and programmes in line with national priorities and needs

During the meeting, the Foundation’s representatives presented an overview of Auar Foundation’s key activities and initiatives implemented over the past period. They also shared the outcomes and recommendations of the Awareness Raising and Capacity-Building Programme for Trade Unions on the Labour Law, implemented in partnership with the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) – Yemen Office. The programme aimed to enhance legal awareness, strengthen the capacities of trade union representatives in Taiz Governorate, and promote the principles of social dialogue and the protection of workers’ rights

The meeting further discussed the importance of building on the programme’s outcomes and recommendations, while reinforcing collaboration among government institutions, trade unions, and civil society organizations. Such cooperation is expected to contribute to increasing awareness of rights and responsibilities, strengthening compliance with the Labour Law, and fostering a fair and collaborative working environment

For his part, H.E. the Minister underscored the vital role played by civil society organizations in serving communities and supporting national development efforts. He emphasized the importance of aligning programmes and interventions with actual needs and national priorities, while enhancing coordination and information sharing to minimize duplication and overlap, and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of resource utilization

Auar Foundation for Justice and Development welcomed the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour’s commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships and enhancing coordination mechanisms with civil society organizations. The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to further developing its programmes, expanding strategic partnerships, and contributing effectively to efforts aimed at achieving sustainable development and advancing justice and community empowerment
